Chalet La Flüta - La Val, Dolomites

Summer in La Val

In summer, La Val enchants its guests with an infinite variety of colours: the dip blue of the sky, the green of the ancient woodland, the pale tones of the Dolomites during the hottest months (the proof of their “nickname” Pale Mountains) and the bursts of thefiery colours of enrosadira at sunset, but the acme is the multi-coloured flowering of the Armentara meadows in June. The landscape is so fascinating that feels like a dream...

Cultural activities

The culture of Val Badia, one of the five Ladin valleys, is so unique and peculiar that it certainly deserves some of your attention. The summer season in La Val is always rich in cultural events, including concerts and exhibitions, processions e festivals, village feasts e folklore performances, guided tours and courses of Ladin cuisine. And to learn even more about the Ladin culture, visit one of the two Ladin museums of the Badia Valley.

Holiday with kids

Every holiday with children in La Val is a fantastic journey into the enchanted world of the mountains, full of legends, marvellous landscapes, games, adventures and possibilities to meet both domestic and wild animals. An unmissable meeting point for all the children in Alta Badia are, for sure, the Movimënt parks on the plateau between Piz Sorega, Piz la Ila and Pralongià.

Relaxation

Relaxation is an integral part of every holiday in La Val. There is nothing more relaxing than contemplating the charming combinations of colours on the meadows, admiring the sun setting behind the mountain peaks and listening the soothing sounds of the nature. There is even a meditation path, starting from the centre of La Val, but, in fact, any route through this superb scenery helps to regain peace and harmony.

Sports & nature

Hiking, trekking, Nordic walking, jogging – the feet are definitely the best means to move around La Val and its surroundings. And thosewho, instead of two feet, prefer two wheels, can explore entire Alta Badia with a mountain bike. An easier alternative is an E-bike: at the tourist board of La Val you will find a rental point and a charging station for electric bicycles. But the sporting activities in Alta Badia don’t end up here – discover them all with the project Explore Your Way.

The hiking village

The village of La Val was the first one in South Tyrol to be certified in 2015 by the project European Hiking Villages and to obtain the precious title of a hiking village. This proves, better than many words, the natural and cultural value of the surrounding landscapes and the beauty of the panoramic routes that lead through this stunning scenery.

Enchanting paths and mule tracks wind among historic farms and immense alpine meadows, climbing to the plateau of Fanes, the world of ancient sagas and legends… All year round you will find in La Val interesting trails for every taste and difficulty level, able to fascinate both experienced hikers and families with children.
